Francois Devienne
- Born on the 31st of january 1759 in Joinville, France
- First lessons from his brother
- Was playing flute and bassoon
- 1788 first bassoonist at the Théatre de Monsieur
- 1793 Bassoonist at the Paris Opera
- 1795 Appointment to be 1. professor for flute at the conservatory in Paris
- Wrote 13 concertos, sinfonias for woodwinds, quartets and trios for different ensembles, 84 (!) duets, soli for flute, 12 operas, bassoon concertos and the flute method: "Méthode de Flûte Théroretique et Pratique" (1793)
- Died probably of overwork at a sanatorium in France on the 5th of september 1813
