Johann Georg Tromlitz
Born on the 8th of november 1725 in Reinsdorf, Germany
Started about 1750 to build flutes, being dissatisfied with the available instruments.
Since 1754 first flutist at the "Big Concert" (ancestor of todays Gewandhaus-Orchestra)
1776 leaving the orchestra for touring and teaching.
Since 1785 drawback from playing concertos restricting himself to the enhancement of the flute.
At the end his flute had eight keys and could be played only by very skilful musicians.
1786 he wrote a short article about playing the flute.
Died on the 4th of february 1805 in Leipzig
